Three Sisters 8th August 2010

We had a brilliant day yesterday. Around a dozen gliders with up to 8 in the air at any one time, friendly wedgies doing their usual aerobatics, grumpy magpies yelling, 15kts straight up the face and gentle winter thermals up to 800′ above launch. Everyone had great flights of between 30 minutes and 4 hours. Wombat Award goes to Merv who got stuck in the valley to the left of launch and had to do a “fly-on-the-wall” landing in the gully. He bent an upright and cut his nose but was otherwise OK. Sky Pig Award goes to Tim Leeds with his four hour flight. He launched first and landed AFTER Paul Tanner!
Ya shoulda been there…
